An..Aesops Fable

An AESOPS FABLE
Hi , this has nothing to do with synchronicity, although a few of us might need this as a small reminder - I came across it, when sorting through my old paperwork, and I had a laugh. It was always a favourite of mine, and has to do with "PRIDE",usually the downfall of us all. I'm not even sure if it is an Aesops Fable, but that's what was written at the bottom of the page ,I think I was about 17/18 when I copied this down, and it goes like this...
THREE FROGS WENT WALKING ONE FINE DAY...
I CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE?
WHEN A HUGE OX LUMBERED PAST THEIR TRAIL,AND GAVE THEM QUITE A SCARE
AT HOME...THE THREE FROGS,TRIED THEIR BEST,THEIR FATHER TO INFORM,
ABOUT THE GIANT THEY'D CHANCED TO MEET UPON THAT PLEASANT MORN.
COME,COME THEIR FATHER SAID WITH PRIDE,THIS SURELY CANNOT BE...
NO OTHER CREATURE IN THE LAND IS HALF AS BIG AS ME!
WITH THIS ,HE BLEW HIS CHEST OUT WIDE...'THIS BIG' HE ASKED HIS SON
'ALAS NOT' SAID THE BIGGEST FROG, 'HE WEIGHED AT LEAST A TON'.
HE BLEW HIS CHEST OUT ONCE AGAIN..'THIS MUST BE PRETTY NEAR'..
THE SECOND FROG REPLIED TO HIM, 'NOT HALF AS BIG I FEAR!'
THEIR FATHER DREW IN AIR ONCE MORE,HIS LUNGS WERE OVERLOADED,
AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STAND THE STRAIN..QUITE SADLY, HE EXPLODED!
*moral of the tale is self conceit leads to self destruction
may the power also be with you.
